School of Moscow is on holiday!

All teachers are away from school and until August 22nd our office is open Tuesday through Thursday 9am until 6pm. Classes resume on August 30th, 2010.

Our students thrive in spacious indoors with classrooms full of natural light overlooking the green territory outside. All of our guests are welcome to tour the school and spend as much time as they wish in the beautiful car-free outdoors. Classroom observations available upon request.

International Standard of Montessori Education in Moscow

Our school's curriculum is based on the educational principles elaborated by Maria Montessori in early 1900s. We rely on recommendations set by Association Montessori Internationale. Before opening our school, we have visited Montessori schools in other countries and connected with professionals worldwide to study best practices available. We are dedicated to continued integration into the international community of Montessorians. To ensure that, we hire international staff and stay visible outside of Russia.

To ensure high standards are met, we work closely with one of the most experienced Montessori consultants worldwide, Susan Mayclin Stephenson.

 
The Montessori Method
Montessori School of Moscow utilizes the philosophy, methods and materials developed by Dr. Maria Montessori. "A child’s work,” Dr. Montessori wrote, “is to create the man he will become. An adult works to perfect his environment, but a child works to perfect himself.” Through their work in a thoroughly prepared environment, children develop concentration, motivation, independence, persistence, and discipline. Within this framework of order, children progress at their own pace and rhythm, according to their individual capabilities, during the crucial years of development.

  • April 17th Montessori School of Moscow hosted a public lecture on Montessori education by Susan Stephenson, a renowned Montessori educator and ambassador.

  • Montessori School of Moscow is one of the best schools for children under 7 years of age, according to Forbes Russia online.
  • All members of our staff went through First Aid training by International SOS and earned their CPR certificates in September 2009.
